At VICOR Floor Care, we specialize in natural stone refinishing, restoring beauty and durability to surfaces that have lost their original shine. Whether it’s floors, countertops, or showers, our expert team brings life back to natural stone through a meticulous process of honing, filling, and sealing.
Transforming the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club
Recently, VICOR Floor Care had the privilege of working with the prestigious Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, a historic landmark known for its iconic architecture and luxurious amenities. The club’s travertine bathrooms had experienced years of wear and tear, including significant damage like etch marks from urine around toilets and pits in the stone’s porous surface. Given the importance of maintaining the club’s upscale aesthetic, a simple cleaning wouldn’t suffice—these natural stone surfaces required a full refinishing to restore their former elegance.
Our team conducted a thorough assessment to devise a tailored refinishing plan. We honed the stone to remove imperfections, filled the pits with epoxy for a seamless finish, polished to an 800 grit satin sheen for subtle elegance, and applied a high-quality penetrating sealer to protect against future damage. The results were transformative, restoring the bathrooms to their former glory and enhancing the club’s luxurious ambiance.
